The natural white camels live in the high plateaus of Mongolia at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters. The camels are kept in small herds. They produce exceptionally fine, natural white hair.
The fine undercoat, which protects the animal from the cold in winter, is shed and collected after the change of seasons. The net yield is only approximately 300 grams per animal per year, and the hair fineness is almost equivalent to that of a fine cashmere hair. The hair is 40 to 90 mm long, very fine (like fine cashmere wool), soft, light, supple, shiny, and particularly rare.
